Professor Tamsin Ford

Mental Health Research Lead

a woman with long brown hair and glasses, smiling

What does a typical day look like for you?

I am part of the senior team. I contribute to the development of Cambridge Children's Hospital and the Cambridge Children's Research Institute.

What inspired you to join the Cambridge Children’s Hospital Project?

My research focuses on the organisation, delivery and effectiveness of services and interventions for children in relation to their mental health. Every contact a child makes with a practitioner represents an opportunity to identify distress or dysfunction, and to intervene to improve a child’s developmental trajectory. Therefore, the integration of acute paediatrics with mental health services is essential.
